Golf Solitaire - Download Page

Golf Solitaire is a simple to learn card game. The goal of the game is to move all of the cards to the foundation at the bottom right of the table. 7 tableaus are dealt face up, with 5 cards on each tableau. The remaining cards are placed face down in the reserve pile on the bottom left of the table One card is then dealt face up at the bottom right of the table as the start of the foundation.

Rules of the Game The top-most card of each of the 7 tableaus (at the top of the table) is available for play upon the foundation. A card can only be played on the foundation if it is one value higher or one value lower than the top card of the foundation (regardless of suit). For instance, if a 9 of spades is showing on the foundation, then an 8 of diamonds or a 7 of clubs could both play onto the foundation. However a 3 of hearts could not play onto the foundation. If no moves are available, then a card from the reserve pile can be moved to the foundation. Finally, nothing can be played on a King. If a King is the top card of the foundation, then a card from the reserve must be dealt for play to continue.

Scoring the Game The scoring for the game is based on golf terminology. If all cards are moved from the top 7 tableaus, and no cards are remaining in the reserve pile, then the player scored par. For every card remaining in the tableaus at the top of the table, one point (or stroke) is added to the player's score. For every card remaining in the reserve pile, one point (or stroke) is subtracted from the player's score.

This version includes multiple undo levels, and recognizes the end of the game. The purpose for my creating and distributing these freeware card games for the PocketPC is to advertise my consulting services. I plan to make and distribute more solitaire card games, so check back to this site often.
